Man gets 5 years jail for filming minor girl, woman bathing

Mangaluru, December 21, 2024: A man from Thota Bengre has been sentenced to five years imprisonment by the POCSO Court in a case of filming a married woman and a minor girl while they were bathing in the bathroom of their house. The court has also slapped a penalty of Rs 15000 on the accused.

The man who has been proved guilty and sentenced to prison is Ramsheed. The incident had taken place on the night of July 5 and 7 this year. The accused had attempted a similar act on July 16 by climbing the terrace of another house when someone noticed him and he fled the place. However his mobile fell while he escaped. The locals later traced him and made him unlock his mobile phone and found the videos captured him.

A complaint was lodged in Panambur police station and later a charge sheet was filed.

The court has also directed the District Legal service Authority to provide a compensation of Rs one lakh to the victims.
