Mangaluru, Dec 22, 2024: The Mangalore Diocese is set to inaugurate the Jubilee Year 2025 with grand celebrations on December 29, 2024. This special year commemorates 2025 years since the birth of Jesus Christ, a milestone that will be marked globally as a Jubilee Year.
Pope Francis will officially inaugurate the Jubilee Year at the Vatican on December 24, 2024. In Mangalore, the celebrations will be led by the Bishop of Mangalore, Most Rev. Dr. Peter Paul Saldanha.
The inauguration will commence with a prayer service at 7:30 AM at the Chapel of St. Anne’s Convent in Bolar. A procession will then move to the Rosario Cathedral Church, where the Bishop will celebrate the Holy Eucharist at 8:00 AM, joined by several clergy members.
Rev. Fr. Joseph Martis of the Mangalore Diocese shared that a significant number of the faithful are expected to participate in this solemn event, underscoring the spiritual importance of the Jubilee Year.
The Diocese has invited all devotees to join in the celebrations and embrace the Jubilee Year with faith and fervor.
