Mangalore. Dec 21, 2012: The victory of the Congress in Himachal Pradesh assembly elections, has been a great morale booster for the Congress Party in the state as well as the district.
The District Congress Committee celebrated the victory by bursting crackers and distributing sweets.
Party men were also seen shouting slogans hailing the party as part of their Vijayotsav celebrations.
Mayor Gulzar Banu, former mayors K Ashraf, Shashidhar Hegde, KPCC member Ivan D’Souza and others addressed the party workers on the occasion. They said the Himachal victory has reaffirmed the faith of the people of that state in the leadership of the Congress.
It may be mentioned here that Congress could garner 36 out of the 68 assembly seats in Himachal thereby securing a majority.
