Mangalore: Mangalore Diocese to hold youth rally ‘Walk for Christ’ on Nov 17

Mangalore, Nov 16, 2013: Bishop of Mangalore Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza said that the Holy Catholic Church had declared 2012-13 as the Year of the Faith and to mark the closing function of this event, Mangalore Diocese will bring all the youth of the Diocese under its wing and organize a “Walk for Christ” youth rally on Nov  17, Sunday.

 

 

Speaking at the press meet held at Bishop House on Nov 16, Saturday, Bishop said that the youth rally will commence from Milagres Church at 2 pm and will culminate at Rosario Cathedral Church. Around 5000 people are expected to participate in the rally, he said.

The closing ceremony of the Year of the Faith will be held at Nehru Maidan from Nov 22 to Nov 24 from 4pm to 7.30 pm. The three days programme consists of preaching, praise and worship, adoration, internal healing and Holy Eucharistic celebration. 

The famous preacher Rev Vinith, the association of the Catholic Faithful, Varanasi, Rev Joseph Edutu, Devine Retreat Centre, Murinhur, Kerala, Rev Cardoza and Rev Franklin will conduct the programme.

More than 25,000 catholic devotees from Mangalore Diocese and from the neighbouring Diocese will take part in the programme. The convention will end on Nov 24 evening with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist Mass. 

He also said that in this connwection ‘the Mega Magnificat 2013’religious programme will be held on December 1, 2013 at Lourdes Central School ground at Bejai at 5 pm.Famous American Catholic Jyas and Hip Hop Singer Rev Fr Stan Porthuna will conduct the programme. 

The Rev. Msgr. Denis Moras Prabhu, Vicar General of the Mangalore Dioceses and others were present at the press meet.
