Mangalore, Mar 5, 2014:  Dr. Sharanappa Shivanand Dhage, the newly appointed Superintendent of Police of Dakshina Kannada district assumed office on March 5, Wednesday.

Sharanappa was appointed to the post consequent upon the transfer of Shanthanu Sinha  to Bangalore.  He is a 2009 batch IPS officer and  was earlier serving SP of Gadag district.

Outgoing SP Shanthanu Sinha had taken charge just five months ago.
