“This investment underscores Mangalore’s growing reputation as a hub for innovation, industry, and global collaboration. It alligns seamlessly with our Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of making India a global leader in clean energy and sustainable technologies” he added.

Energy of the future for global good

‘Our government led by PM Shri Narendra Modi is committed to supporting such transformative investments, ensuring a conducive environment for businesses and innovation.

ETAG’s relocation to Mangalore is not just a business decision—it is a testament to the city’s ability to nurture industries that shape the future furthering our PM’s vision of ‘Make In India’.

Under the leadership of PM Shri Narendra Modi, India is rapidly emerging as a global leader in the clean energy transition. With strategic investments in green hydrogen, electric vehicles, and energy storage systems among others, India is not only advancing its own energy transformation but also playing a key role in the global shift towards a cleaner, greener future.

In this direction, this investment by ETAG, which once operational, is projected to contribute USD 110 million annually to India’s exports, will strengthen our country’s presence in the global energy market as well as aid the making of Armanirbhar Bharat in this sector.’said Captain Brijesh Chowta, who is also a member of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Energy.

Back to Ooru

“It is reassuring to see Mangaloreans eager to come “Back To Ooru” and invest in our ‘Ocean of Possibilities’.

As I have said previously when we signed another EOI, again in the clean energy sector, just a few weeks ago, “Back to Ooru" initiative, which is part of my task-sheet Navayuga Navapatha aims to encourage successful Mangaloreans abroad to return and invest in our hometown; through this I’m committed to ensure we transform Mangaluru into a centre for innovation and sustainable development.

We should all put our heads together to engineer this tectonic shift— Mangaloreans who realised dreams across the world should come ‘Back To Ooru’ to ensure our Gen next realises their dreams here. And as our PM Says “yehi samay hai sahi samay hai”.

So I welcome ETAG’s and wish them the best to fuel an electric push for a new era of ’Make in Kudla’, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of ’Make in India’” said Captain Brijesh Chowta, urging more Mangaloreans across the globe to take a leaf out of these investments and plan to come ‘Back To Ooru’ at the earliest.

Speaking at the event, CEO Shri Suryanarayana lauded the efforts of MP Captain Brijesh Chowta saying “it is the restlessness of the Hon’ble MP to bring investors to Mangalore that we are signing a second EOI within weeks of the first one. It gives me great pride to be part of this signing once again in such a short span of time”.

ETAG Chairman Shri Prakash Pereira addressed the gathering saying “it is with immense pride and excitement that we return ‘Back To Ooru’ to share this moment for ETAG Energietechnik & celebrate this signing of MoU for a state-of-the-art technology and research and manufacturing facility in MSEZ, marking a new era of innovation, sustainability and leadership from Namma Ooru Mangaluru”.
