Mangalore, Feb 17, 2013: Two bike riders were killed on the spot in a tragic road accident reported from near Yeyyadi petrol bunk at around midnight of February 16, Saturday, when their two-wheeler was hit by a car. The persons in the car were allegedly drunk and are said to be doctors.
The incident took place at around 12.30 am when Yogish and Chandrashekhar, both electricians by profession were returning from Suratkal towards Yeyyadi. The speeding car in which a young man and woman were travelling knocked down the bike riders near the Yeyyadi petrol bunk, after ramming against a compound wall. Jayaprakash had stopped his two-wheeler near the petrol bunk to drop Yogish when the car knocked them down.
The deceased Yogish was the son of Chandrahas and Sunitha of Moodushedde while Jayaprakash hailed from Veerakambha and was the son of Somappa Nayak and Neelamma.
The persons in the car are learnt to have sustained minor injuries. Both are said to be absconding Kavoor police are conducting investigations.
