Mangalore, Sep 27, 2013: Students from various colleges under the aegis of Akhila Bharatha Vidyarthi Parishad, staged the protest rally from Jyothi to DC Office on Friday 27, Friday, demanding to take action against the murderer of 18-year-old student of Venkataramana Government First Grade College.
Addressing the protestors, Mahipal, Joint Secretary of ABVP demanded to probe into the mysterious death of the students which has created the fear among students and their parents.
He also said that Dakshina Kannada has witnessed many missing, rape, kidnap and murder case of college going students including Belthangady Soujanya rape and murder, Manipal gang-rape, athlete Prithvi death and now Akshatha rape and murder case.
He also urged the police department to conduct the transparent investigation on Akshatha Murder case, whose body was found in a decomposed state near Mulihithlu ice plant.
According to the sources, Akshatha was in love with her classmate Madan from Manjeshwar and both were said to missing from September 21, Saturday. Akshatha had left home with a reason to attend the special class, but did not attend the class too.
Reportedly Madan is to have 18 sim cards, but his mobile phones is said to be switched off.
The students submitted the memorandum to Chief Minister through DC N Prakash, demanding justice.
