Mangalore University to confer Honorary Doctorate on Hemavathi Heggade, Devadas Kapikad, Harikrishna

Mangaluru, April 21, 2022: Mangalore University during its 40th Convocation to be held on April 23 will be conferring honorary doctorate on Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala Jnana Vikasa Yojana Chief Hemavathi V Heggade, former president of Kannada Sahitya Parishat Harikrishna Punaroor and renowned Tulu theatre personality Devadas Kapikad.
This was informed to reporters here on April 21, Thursday by Vice Chancellor Prof P S Yadapadittaya. He said Dr Shivananda Naik will be conferred doctorate for his research in science.
The Vice Chancellor informed that Chancellor and State Governor Thavar Chand Gehlot will preside over the function while State Minister for Higher Education Dr C N Ashwatha Narayan will be the chief guest.
A total of 153 people will be awarded Ph.D while 52 will receive gold medals.
Registrar (Evaluation) P L Dharma, University College Principal Dr Anasuya Rai were present.
