Mangalore : Week long Yuvajanotsav to mark 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda

Mangalore, Jan 9, 2012 : Deputy Commissioner N Prakash has informed that National Youth Day and “Yuvajanotsav Camp” will be held  at Ramakrishna Mutt in Mangalore  from January 11 to 17, in association with the district administration. He said the programmes are being organised in connection with the 150th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.

Informing this to reporters, here on January 8, Tuesday, he said the main objective of the programme was to spread the messages and ideologies of Swami Vivekananda. The DC said around 600 youth delegates are expected to take part in Viveka Chethana on the inaugural day, while   a rally called  ‘Viveka Sanchalana’ to be held on January 12 will be participated by over 5000 students.  N Vinay Hegde, Chancellor of Nitte University will flag off the  rally  at Nehru Maidan. The rally will conclude at Ramakrishna Mutt after passing through Corporation Bank and Mangaladevi, the DC informed.

 


On January 13, a programme called ‘Viveka Vandana’ will feature Yakshagana in Tenkutittu and Badagutittu styles. There will be magic show by Kudroli Ganesh as part of ‘Viveka Namana’ on January 14.


A seminar for primary school teachers on ‘Value Education’ will be held on  January 15 in association with ZP, while on January 16 there will be a Youth Convention ‘Viveka Jagruthi’ with the co-operation of AIR. The celebrations will culminate with ‘Viveka Manthana’ a convention for teachers on January 17, the DC in
