Mangaluru City Police deploys advanced drone for enhanced surveillance

Mangaluru, Sept 4, 2024: The Mangaluru City Police began utilizing the Ideaforge Drone Q6, a state-of-the-art device, on Wednesday to enhance their capabilities in law enforcement and traffic management.

In a press release, Police Commissioner Anupam Agrawal announced the successful integration of the drone, which was acquired through Mangalore Smart City Limited. He emphasized that the drone will be particularly valuable during protests and city-wide events.

Seven city police officers have undergone training and received certification as drone pilots, ensuring the effective deployment of the system in various operations. This addition is expected to significantly bolster the city police’s efforts to maintain public safety and security.

The drone was officially handed over on Tuesday in the presence of representatives from the original equipment manufacturer, following all necessary regulations and procedures, according to Mr. Agrawal.
