Mangaluru, January 6, 2025: District Congress SC/ST Cell organized a Samvidhan Samrakshana Jatha in the city on Monday to condemn the statement of Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding B R Ambedkar and to demand the resignation of the minister. The protestors also shouted slogans against the Union Minister.
The Jatha which commenced from near Ambedkar Circle concluded near the Mini Vidhana Saudha and a protest meet was held.
MLC Ivan D’Souza, former minister Ramanatha Rai and others who spoke, said the agitation will continue until Amit Shah resigns.
DCC President Harish Kumar, District Congress SC/ST cell chief Dinesh Muloor, Cashew Development Corporation Chairperson Mamatha Gatti, former MLA J R Lobo, former mayors Shashidhar Hegde, K Ashraf, Congress leaders Padmaraj R, Mithun Rai, Inayat Ali and others participated in the protest.
