Mangaluru, Oct 27, 2020: The famous Mangaluru Dasara celebration at the Kudroli Shree Gokarnanatha Temple which was a low-key affair this time due to Covid restrictions, concluded on October 26, Monday with the immersion of the idols of the Goddess Sharada, Navadurgas and Lord Ganesha in the Temple lake.
Monday morning various rituals like Vagishwari Durga Homa, Shiva Pooja and Pushapalankara Maha Pooja were held. Later Visarjana Pooja was offered to the idol of Goddess Sharada and other idols of Nava Durgas.
As there was no Shobhayatra this year which was an annual spectacular show marking the culmination of Dasara, thousands had gathered at the temple premises itself to witness the conclusion of the Dasara festivities.
Different Huli Vesha teams gave a mesmerizing performance at the special podium set up at the Temple premises, prior the Visarjana ritual. A tableaux with the portrait of Brahmashree Narayana Guru was taken in a procession from the temple and passed through Ladyhill Circle, Lalbagh, Ballalbagh, PVS, K S Rao Road and P M Rao Road and then returned to the Temple following which the idols were immersed in the Temple lake in the presence of hundreds of devotees as well as the Temple Committee office bearers.
