Drainage overflows in a ’prospective’ Smart city !
Everyone is busy talking about ways and means of making Mangaluru a smart city. But, it is a pity that the authorities have failed in tackling some basic problems arising mainly owing to lack of proper maintenance of underground drainages or side drains. The entire Bunts Hostel Road has been stinking since the past three days due to a drainage overflow opposite Toyoto Showroom and CV Nayak Hall.
When asked about this, MLA JR Lobo said that "Mangaluru is a perfect city and such issues have been happening every now and then and such kind of issues will not have much impact on Mangaluru being smart city."
