Mangaluru, February 5, 2025: The grand "Mangaluru Rathotsava" (Kodial Theru) at the Sri Venkataramana Temple on Car Street was celebrated on Tuesday with thousands of devotees in attendance.
The festivities began at dawn with a grand Maha Prarthana, followed by the Shatakalasabhisheka, Gangabhisheka, and Kanakabhisheka ceremonies dedicated to Lord Veera Venkatesha and other deities. These rituals were conducted by Sri Samyamindra Teertha Swamiji, the Mathadheesha of Sri Kashi Matha Samsthana.
Following the Maha Yajna and Maha Poornahuti at the Yajna Mantapa, the deity was elaborately adorned and placed on a golden palanquin before being carried on the splendid Brahma Ratha. Devotees, especially from the GSB community, gathered in large numbers, filling the air with bhajans, prayers, and hymns.
The Rathotsava concluded with devotees fervently pulled the Brahma Ratha while chanting "Govinda Anni Govinda." The celebrations will continue with Avabruthotsava and Okuli on February 5.
