Among the new additions to the airport’s security arsenal are a second Bullet Resistant Vehicle (BRV) for the Quick Response Team (QRT) and state-of-the-art Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) tools. These enhancements are expected to significantly boost the airport’s response capabilities to potential security threats.

In a major upgrade of its security capabilities, Mangaluru International Airport has also provided the CISF with a Suspect Luggage Containment Vehicle, a Miniature Remote Operated Vehicle, an IR illuminator, and night vision binoculars equipped with a range finder. These tools are designed to enhance the CISF’s ability to detect and neutralize potential threats swiftly and effectively.

To bolster security measures further, the Landside Security team at Mangaluru International Airport has been equipped with two electric scooters. These scooters will be used to patrol the entry and exit roads of the airport, ensuring comprehensive surveillance and quick response in case of any incidents.

This initiative ensures that Mangaluru International Airport is fully compliant with all BDDS equipment requirements mandated by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS). By providing the CISF with the necessary tools, the airport aims to maintain the highest standards of security and ensure the safety of passengers and staff.

In a ceremonial handover, Mr. Mukesh Nankani, Chief Airport Officer of Mangaluru International Airport, presented a symbolic key to the BRV to Mr. Virendra Mohan Joshi, Senior Commandant of CISF and Chief Airport Security Officer. The event was attended by Mr. Vijit Juyal, Chief Security Officer of AAHL, along with other members of the airport leadership team.

“We are committed to ensuring the highest standards of safety and security at Mangaluru International Airport. The deployment of these advanced security measures reflects our ongoing dedication to enhancing passenger safety and operational efficiency,” said Mr. Nankani.

With these advancements, Mangaluru International Airport continues to set a benchmark in airport security, reinforcing its position as a leader in providing a safe and secure environment for travelers. The collaboration between AAHL and CISF exemplifies a shared commitment to safeguarding the airport and its passengers from potential threats.
