Mangaluru, January 31, 2025: A case has been registered in Barke police station in connection with the assault and abuse of the jailer on duty at the District Prison in Mangaluru by an under trial named Raja alias Japan Manga.

The Jailer Vijay Kumar Sanka in his complaint said the accused demanded lighter when he was locking the room number 3 of A block. When the jailer denied, the accused threatened him and told him to tell the jail superintendent that Raja needs a lighter. When the jailer reprimanded, the accused who was inside the cell, extended his arms through the door grill and  dragged the jailer and injured his hand.


The jailer was admitted to Wenlock for treatment.
