Mangaluru, January 3, 2025: The Mangaluru North Police have apprehended a 63-year-old man for allegedly submitting forged Aadhaar cards and fake documents to act as a guarantor in court cases.
The accused, identified as K Ummarabba Maidheen, was arrested on December 31. According to authorities, he used counterfeit Aadhaar cards to create fraudulent documents and posed as a surety for individuals facing legal proceedings.
The case, registered under Crime Number 141/2023 at the Mangaluru North Police Station, includes charges under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), namely 464, 465, 466, 468, 471, and 474.
The arrest was conducted under the leadership of the Mangaluru city police commissioner and deputy commissioner, with oversight from the assistant police commissioner of the central subdivision. The operation was executed by the inspector of Mangaluru North Police Station, with assistance from the station’s PSI and other staff members.
The accused, a resident of Chandranagar, Kalathur Post, in Kaup taluk of Udupi district, is set to be presented before the court.
