Mangaluru, January 3, 2025: Mangaluru police have apprehended a suspect involved in the February 28 robbery of a medical shop in Nagori. The incident saw a female employee threatened at knifepoint, assaulted, and robbed of Rs.19,300 from the shop’s cash drawer.
The suspect, identified as 31-year-old Sunil from Bondel Patrakodi, was arrested following an intensive investigation. After committing the robbery, Sunil fled the scene, prompting swift action from law enforcement. The operation was led by Assistant Police Commissioner Dhanya Nayak of the Mangaluru South Division, with Inspector T.D. Nagaraj from Kankanady Town Police Station spearheading the effort. They were supported by PSI Vinayak Bhavikatti and a dedicated team, including staff members Jayanand, Sandeep, Rajeshab, Gangadhar, Raghavendra, Pradeep, and personnel from the South Sub-Division Office.
During the investigation, police recovered stolen property worth approximately ₹1,20,000. The items included ₹17,500 in cash, the scooter used in the crime, and other related belongings. This successful operation highlights the police force’s commitment to community safety and justice.
