Mangaluru : Poshan Pakhwada-2021 inaugurated

Mangaluru, Mar 23, 2021:      Poshan Pakhwada-2021  aimed at  addressing nutrition challenges in children,  pregnant women and new mothers,  was inaugurated  at the Netravathi Auditorium of DK Zilla Panchayat on March 23, Tuesday under the aegis of the DK District Administration, Zilla Panchayat and Women and Child Development Department.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Addressing the function, ZP CEO Dr Kumar said  nutrition deficiency was less in  children in the Dakshina Kannada District compared to other  districts. Still, an effort has to be made to ensure there is no child suffers from malnutrition in the district, he added.

ZP Vice President Kasturi Panja stressed the need for children to consume nutritious food instead of getting swayed by fast food.

ZP Standing Committee President Dhanalakshmi Gatti, Women and Child Development Department’s Deputy Director Papa Bavi and others were present.

An exhibition of nutritious and healthy food was arranged outside the ZP Auditorium on behalf of the Department  of Women and Child Development.
