Mangaluru, January 3, 2025: Speaker U T Khader visited the new Deputy Commissioner’s (DC) office in Padil on Friday, January 3, to evaluate its progress.
Accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan, Khader inspected the nearly completed facility, which is expected to be inaugurated soon.
During his visit, Khader stated, “The new DC office at Padil addresses a long-standing demand. The current office at Hampankatta struggles with severe traffic congestion, and relocating to Padil will significantly alleviate this issue. This facility, constructed at a cost of Rs 75 crore, will stand as a model DC office.”
He added, “We are making every effort to complete the remaining work swiftly, aiming to inaugurate the office during the chief minister’s visit to Mangaluru on January 17 for the State Olympics. We will collaborate with the concerned officials to ensure timely completion. If necessary, we may have to adjust our plans.”
Highlighting the benefits of centralization, Khader remarked, “Bringing all departments under one roof will make it easier for the public to access services and manage their time. Furthermore, with most meetings set to take place at the new DC office, having all departments in one location will enhance operational efficiency for officials.”
