Mangalore Today News Network

Mangaluru, August 7, 2024: Continuous heavy rains have caused damage to certain sections of the national highways in the coastal Karnataka region, leading to speed restrictions on highway roads.

For the safety of commuters, speed limits have been imposed on national highway (NH) 66 from Surathkal junction to Thokkottu junction and on NH-73 from BC Road to Nanthoor junction.

The speed limit has been set at 40 km/h for two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and heavy vehicles.

Due to the ongoing rain, highway users are advised to drive at a maximum speed of 60 km/h.

This advisory comes from the project director and highway maintenance officials of the National Highways Authority of India’s project implementation unit.
