Mangaluru: Stranded Amarnath pilgrims from Dakshina Kannada are safe

Mangaluru, July 10, 2023: All 20 pilgrims from Dakshina Kannada district who are stranded due to heavy rains and landslides during Amarnath Yatra are reported to be safe.

The team is said to be halting at the Meer Bazar army camp about 50 kms away from Pehalgam.

A team of pilgrims from B C Road, Mangaluru, Bantwal and Moodbidri had set out on Amarnath Yatra. The team has eight people from Adyar, five from Narikombu and one person each from Puttur, Udupi, Moodbidri and Karaya.

Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Mullai Muhilan has said that the District Administration has no information of any stranded Amarnath pilgrim. If their families contact the District Administration then measures would be taken to help them, he said.
