Mangaluru, Jan 25, 2018: Thousands of devotees were soaked with devotion as they witnessed the spectacular Kodial Theru, the Brahmarathotsav of Lord Shree Veera Venkatesha, the presiding deity of Sri Venkataramana Temple at Carstreet on January 24, Wednesday. Srimad Samyamindra Theertha, the pontiff of Kashi Mutt was also present during the occasion.
The idol of Lord Veera Venkatesha placed on a golden palanquin arrived from the shrine towards the Chariot at 5.30 pm. After the traditional Ratha Pradakshine the idol of Lord Veera Venkatesha was placed in the chariot or Ratha. Mahamangalarathi was offered to the Lord followed by the Temple Managing Trustee M Padmanabha Pai accepting the Mahaprasada on behalf of all devotees.
MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, former MLA N Yogish Bhat and other dignitaries were present. As part of the Car Festival special Gangabhisheka, Pulakabhisheka and Sahasra Dhara Seve were offered to the Lord.
The newly created Golden aureole or Prabhavali and Swarna Yalakki garland were offered to the Lord on the occasion by the Kashi Mutt pontiff.
Over 50,000 devotees accepted the Anna Prasada offered at the Temple as part of the Car Festival.
