Mangaluru: Tulu theater and film artist Vivek Maduru passes away due to heart attack

Mangaluru, March 14, 2025: Renowned artist Vivek Maduru (52), known for his powerful comedic roles in Tulu theater and cinema, passed away due to a heart attack at his residence in Maduru.

Vivek was living with his wife, Vedavati, at his brother’s house in Maduru, Ullal Taluk. Previously, he ran a telephone STD booth, but after its closure, he started selling plastic household items at his brother’s grocery store.

A professional comedian, Vivek performed with some of the most prominent theater troupes in the coastal region and acted alongside top artists in Tulu cinema, often referred to as Coastalwood. He was also a member of the Tulu Theater Artists’ Association. Several organizations recognized and honored his artistic contributions.

His untimely demise has deeply saddened the Tulu theater community and Coastalwood artists, who have expressed their condolences.
