Mangaluru, February 4, 2025: Two persons have been convicted by courts in two separate cheque bounce cases.

In the first case, the 9th JMFC Court has slapped a penalty of Rs 3,03,000 on Naveen Acharya, owner of V5 Tech Engineering Works of Brahmavar and a resident of Mangaluru in a cheque bounce case. The court in its order said he has to undergo an imprisonment for three months if he fails to pay the penalty.

Naveen had issued the cheque after purchasing sports equipment from Prime Sports Company in Mangaluru. But when the cheque bounced, the owner of the firm had moved the court. The court after hearing both the parties found that the cheque issuer had deliberately bounced the cheque.

In another case, the court has slapped a penalty of Rs 1,02,000 on a person named Nijamuddin. He will have to undergo an imprisonment of six months if he fails to pay the fine. Pawan Kumar of Charmady village had filed the cheque bounce complaint.
