Mangaluru, April 1, 2025: An unidentified dead body was found at Bikarnakatte in Mangaluru on Monday.
Commissioner of Police Anupam Agrawal said that on receiving information, police rushed to the spot and found the body of a man aged approximately 40 to 45 years. The body had started decomposing, emitting a foul smell.
The place where the body was found belongs to Ramesh, who lodged a complaint. Based on the complaint, a case has been registered at the East police station.
During the inspection, an OPD slip from Wenlock Hospital was found in a bag near the deceased. As per information on the slip, the deceased was admitted to Wenlock Hospital on February 4 through a 108 ambulance.
Hospital records indicate that he was admitted due to injuries sustained after falling down under the influence of alcohol. As per the statement given by a local resident from Shivbagh, the deceased was a ragpicker.
Further investigation is underway to identify the identity of the deceased as only first name was mentioned in the hospital slip, said the commissioner.
