Mangaluru: World Anaesthesia Day celebration at KSHEMA

Mangaluru, Oct 16, 2023: Department of Anaesthesiology, K S Hegde Medical Academy observed “World Anaesthesia Day” on 16th October 2023 at Chinthana hall, K S Hegde Hospital, Nitte (Deemed to be University). Every year world Anaesthesia day is celebrated for the remembrance of first successful public demonstration of pain less surgery using ether by W. T. G Morton at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston on 16th October 1846.  

 

 

 

Dr B Jayaprakash Shetty, Professor Emeritus, Department of Orthopaedics was the chief guest. Dean of KSHEMA, Dr P S Prakash was a guest of honour, Dr Harsha Halahalli, Registrar Nitte (Deemed to be University, Dr Amrit Mirajkar, Vice Dean, KSHEMA, Medical Superintendent of K S Hegde Hospital were present on this occasion. Dr Sumalatha R Shetty Dr Anil Shetty, Professor in department of Anaesthesiology gave a lecture on “History and evolution of Anaesthesia”.

Mr Mahesh K, Mr Rama Moolya, Mrs Sabina Thoras and Mr Mohandas were felicitated in the programme for serving efficiently in the OT.

Dr Sripada G Mehandale, HOD Dept of Anaesthesiology welcomed the guests and gave an introduction for the event. Dr Murali Krishna proposed the vote of thanks. Dr Nisha Shetty was the MC for the programme.
