Mangaluru, January 1, 2025: A young Yakshagana artiste lost his life in a tragic road mishap near Arkula Junction on the outskirts of the city on the evening of December 31.
The deceased is Praveeth Kumar (22). He was an artiste of the Sasihitlu Bhagavathi Yakshagana Mela and an MSW first year student of Vittal First Grade College.
Praveeth who was a Stree Veshadhari in the Yakshagana Mela was on way to Bajpe Kandavara Bailu where a show was scheduled, when tragedy struck.
His bike skidded near the Arkula Junction when an ice-cream vehicle ran over him. Praveeth died on the spot.
Mangaluru Traffic Police have registered a case.
