Mangaluru, Jan 24, 2022: Remona Evette Pereira, a first PUC student at Nanthoor Padua PU College, has made everyone proud when she received the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar Award for her outstanding achievements in the field of art and culture.
The Award was presented at a virtual interaction with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 24, Monday. At the function held in this regard at the ZP Meeting Hall, Remona was accompanied by her mother Gladis Celine and brother Ronaldo Rockson. ZP CEO Dr Kumar was also present.
The Award includes a certificate and Rs one lakh cash prize.
Remona is a promising dancer in all forms including semi-classical, western and conteporary and she has evinced great interest in learning Kuchipudi, Kathak, Yakshagana as well as Western dance. She has won a number of competitions and has presented several shows. Her Bharatanatyam Rangapravesha was held in 2019.
During the virtual interaction the Prime Minister asked her about her inspiration to learn dance in various forms.
