Manoor incident of strangers knocking on doors of businessman’s house: Cops form 2 teams to probe

Udupi, July 29, 2024: Two police teams have been formed to investigate into the case of strangers who came by two cars and knocked on the doors of a house at Manoor in Kota police station limits of Kundapur taluk.

Informing this to reporters, Udupi SP Dr Arun K said the house owner is an accused in many cases and is also accused of involving in betting. The FIR has been filed on the basis of the complaint of the wife of the house owner.

The police are trying to find who the strangers were. Police also suspect that the strangers had plans of dacoity. Had the IT or ED teams arrived, then the police would have been aware of the same.

As of now it is clear that the strangers were not government officials, the SP said.

A total of eight strangers had arrived by two cars. The CCTV has captured six of them. The strangers first tried to open the gate and even banged on it. Later they jumped inside the compound from another side and knocked on the door and finally returned after no one responded.

The incident took place on July 25 morning.
