Married woman elopes with youth of another faith; husband alleges love jihad

Byndoor, April 20, 2024: A married woman from Kemmai in Puttur has reportedly eloped with a young man of a different faith. It is said the husband of the woman was assaulted when he questioned his wife. He also alleged that this was a case of love jihad.
As per the complainant Suresh Bhat, his wife Pratima Bhat has eloped with Sirajuddin an ambulance driver from Ballamajalu in Puttur Kuriya. Bhat has also accused Sirajuddin of abusing, assaulting and threatening him.
A complaint has been lodged at the local police station.
