Mangaluru, July 1, 2024: Make more contribution through media for peace and harmony in the society Legislature Speaker U.T. Khader said.

He was speaking on behalf of the Dakshina Kannada District Working Journalists’ Association at the inauguration of the press day held at the Press House in the city on Monday.

In view of the future, the media should be the people’s representatives and the harmonious link of the society. Newspapers have been functioning as the voice of the people since before independence. Ambedkar and Gandhiji also started newspapers to reach people. In today’s changed times, the nature of newspapers has changed. Students should read daily newspapers to gain knowledge. I was very interested in reading newspapers as a child. I was interested enough to wait and read the magazine. "Reading newspaper is helpful to get hold of the language," he said.

Media arena for maintaining the health of the society:-

Speaking of which, the media is the savior of the society. Social responsibility is an important responsibility of journalists. Do not exaggerate anything. Journalists should maintain restraint and not succumb to pressure. Journalists should function as the link of a healthy society. Journalists should develop a sense of humor in their lives. By this the stress of daily life can be reduced and health can be maintained," he said.

DK District Working Journalists Association President Srinivas Naik Indaje presided over the function. Karnataka Geru Nigam President Mamata Gatti, Muda President Sadashiva Ullal, News Public Department Assistant Khader Shah, Dakshina Kannada District Working Journalists Association President Srinivas Indaje, Senior Journalist Chidambara Baikampadi, Nandagopal, Suresh Puduvettu, Jagannath Shetty Bala, Ibrahim Adkasthala, Bhaskar Rai Katta, Siddhik Neeraj, District Correspondent Khader Shah, Mangalore Press Club President PB Harish Rai, Press Bhawan President Ramakrishna R were present.
