Mayor’s phone-in: Several citizens complain of drainage issues

Mangaluru, January 25, 2025: Mayor Manoj Kumar Kodikal’s Phone-in programme on Friday received a host of complaints regarding drainage problems in the Smart City Mangaluru.

While one citizen complained of sewage water flowing in drains in Padil Karmar, a woman from Valencia said as many as 25 to 30 houses in the locality did not have drainage facility. A Hosabettu resident demanded drainage facility in Honnakatte area while a Jeppinamogaru resident pointed out at the absence of drainage facility near a local shrine.

A woman complained that a homestay was operated near her house at Bondel without permission and that preparations were underway to open another homestay.

A woman from Bondel complained that locals object to her feeding of stray dogs.

Deputy Mayor Bhanumathi, Standing Committee President Veena Mangala were also present.
