Miffed over denial of ticket, Minister Angara announces retirement from politics

Mangalore Today News Network

Mangaluru, April 12, 2023: Resentment is brewing within the BJP close on the heels of the announcement of first list of candidates. If Udupi MLA Raghupathi Bhat who was denied a ticket is already disillusioned, another MLA and former minister S Angara who represents Sullia constituency too is visibly upset over denial of ticket and has announced his retirement from politics.

S Angara

Speaking to reporters he said he has served the party as well as society without a blemish for all these years. "This is not the way to honour such a service," he said adding there seems to be no value for honest politics. "I never lobby for anything and this has given me a setback," he said.

It may be recalled here that the party has chosen Bhagirathi Murulya for Sullia constituency.
