Mangalore, Apr 20: Brahma Kumari Shivani, the international management trainer who regularly features on Astha TV, inaugurated the Spiritual Fair at Town Hall on April 20, Tuesday.
Discoursing on happiness, she said that one’s mind should be able to obey one’s instructions. She also spoke about the importance of cleaning the mind before meditation in order to beat stress. Failure to do so will lead to collection of bad memories, which in turn leads to anger, jealousy, and hatred toward others. Keeping the mind unclean will lead to permanent thought patterns, which are difficult to correct.
Speaking about the modern tendency to express anger toward others in the mistaken belief that it will get work done, she said that this gives rise to anger and tension, which is why happiness is rare.
People trusted each other in the past; however that trust is now slowly turning to pain. Instead of trying to change themselves, people try to change others’ thoughts and behavior patterns, she said.
The spiritual discourse was preceded by the musical concert ‘Jnana Gaana Sudha’ by Puttur Narasimha Nayak and party.
