Mangaluru, Jan 26, 2025: Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao condemned the recent attack on a unisex salon in the city, stating that such incidents tarnish the reputation of both the district and Mangaluru.
Speaking on Republic Day after hoisting the national flag, Rao criticized the fringe group Ram Sene, which reportedly carried out the attack over alleged immoral activities at the salon. Rao, who serves as the Health and Family Welfare Minister and is also in charge of Dakshina Kannada district, urged strict action against those responsible.
“Those orchestrating such attacks must be held accountable by the police without fear or favor,” he asserted. The Minister added that incidents like these raise concerns for foreign investors considering Karnataka as a safe destination for investments.
Expressing concern over the motivations of fringe groups, Rao said, “We don’t understand why these groups target businesses or what their motives are. Anyone with grievances should approach the police and seek lawful solutions.”
