Minor boy injured due to alleged police atrocity at Tannirbavi beach

Mangaluru, Jan 02, 2023: A minor boy sustained injuries allegedly due to police atrocities at Tannirbavi beach on January 1, Sunday. Following this incident locals pulled up police personnel.

Following heavy influx of tourists to Tannirbavi beach since Saturday, on account of New Year, police had a tough time in regulating traffic due to increasing number of vehicles.

It is said on Sunday police stopped some youth who were returning after playing cricket and wielded lathi on them blaming them for the traffic snarl. In the process a minor boy reportedly sustained injuries.

The boy, a class six student has been admitted to hospital. A complaint has been lodged with the City Police Commissioner. The matter has also been brought to the notice of the local MLA.

A video of locals taking the cops to task, has also gone viral.
