Miscreants damage CCTV cameras at govt school ahead of SSLC exams in Udupi

Udupi, March 22, 2025: Unidentified miscreants allegedly damaged CCTV cameras installed at the Government Pre-University College, Kambadakone, Byndoor, ahead of the SSLC examinations which commenced on Friday.
The cameras were installed in classrooms and within the school premises to ensure proper monitoring during the exams. According to the police, the incident occurred on the night of March 20. A total of five CCTV cameras were damaged including two inside the examination hall, one near the teachers’ room entrance, and one in a classroom adjacent to the playground.
The miscreants had disconnected the power supply to the system, resulting in an estimated loss of Rs 12,000.
Following a complaint by BC Shenoy, Vice Principal of the college, a case has been registered at the Byndoor Police Station under Sections 329(3), 329(4), and 324(3) of the BNS.
