Miscreants set Tree Park afire; Rs 6 lakhs loss

Mangaluru, Mar 30, 2017: The Tree Park at Tannirbavi was allegedly set afire by some miscreants on March 29, Wednesday. Locals who noticed the fire immediately informed the Fire Service Department. Fire tender vehicles which rushed to the spot doused the flames. The loss has been put at Rs 6 lakhs.

The Tree Park which is a herbal garden was inaugurated on March 26 last year. It is aimed at sensitising people on the need to conserve bio-diversity and also to educate students on the importance of herbs.
