Mangaluru, March 17, 2025: A 17-year-old class 12 student from Mangaluru, who was reportedly missing from his house in Kunjathbail since March 13, was traced in Hubballi on Saturday.
According to police fear of examinations had made the boy to run away from the house.
The Kavoor police said Jebin Kumar Badra, son of an Indian Coast Guard officer, was reported missing from Coast Guard Quarters in Kunjathbail on March 13. A missing complaint had been filed in this regard.
By closely monitoring images of close circuit television cameras, the police gathered technical evidence and used intelligence network to trace the boy in the Hubballi Railway station. He was later brought to Mangaluru and handed over to parents.
Similarly, 17-year-old II year PU student Digant of Farangipet had left the house on February 25 said to be out of fear of examinations. Discovery of his blood stained slippers and his mobile phone near railway track raised concerns about safety of the boy.
It was on March 8 that Dakshina Kannada police traced Digant in supermarket in Udupi. He had travelled by bus to Shivamogga, reached Mysuru by train. He worked for few days in a hotel in Nandi Hills, before returning to Udupi.
