Missing youth’s body found in Netravati river near Uppinangady

Uppinangady, March 12, 2025: The body of a young man was found in the Netravati River here. He has been identified as Gagan Raj Shetty (20), a resident of Anjara Mane in Golithottu village, who had been missing since Monday night.

Gagan Raj Shetty, the son of Ravichandra Shetty from Anjara Mane, was an auto-rickshaw driver. On Monday night, he informed his family that he had a ride to Nelyadi and left. However, from 10 PM onwards, he was unreachable and went missing.

During the search, his auto-rickshaw was found parked near the Netravati bridge in Uppinangady. Suspecting something amiss, a search was conducted in the river, where a floating body was spotted. With the help of a raft, the body was retrieved and confirmed to be that of the missing Gagan Raj Shetty.

Uppinangady Sub-Inspector Avinash is conducting further investigations.
