Mumbai, January 11: A Mohan Rao, Chief General Manager of Corporation Bank died due to heart attack in Mumbai on Monday January 11, 2010. He was in Mumbai on official visit. He had complained of chest pain in the morning and was admitted to a hospital in Mumbai. Later he was shifted to Asian Heart Institute, Bandra, Mumbai in the after noon. He died at 7.00 in the evening.
The body will be brought to Mangalore tomorrow. The cremation will take place on Wednesday (13/01/2010) in his house compound at Capitanio, Mangalore.
Mr. Rao was designated as the Chief General Manager of the Bank recently . Rao joined Corporation Bank in the year 1977 as an Officer and worked in various capacities both in operations and administration. As General Manager, he headed Recovery, Priority Sector, Accounts, Retail Lending, Personnel Administration and Human Resources Management.
Mohan Rao was handling functions relating to Credit, Corporate Communication, Publicity & Public Relations, Board Secretariat & Investor Services at Bank’s Corporate Office. He was a Member of the Chairman’s Club for fifteen years. Prior to joining Corporation Bank he worked for three and half years as an Officer in Vijaya Bank.
He leaves behind his wife and two sons.
