Moodbidri: Inter-district bike thieves arrested, two-wheelers seized

Moodbidri, Oct 29, 2023: A team of police led by Moodbidri police inspector Sandesh PG arrested a group of inter-district thieves responsible for a series of motorcycle thefts in the areas under the jurisdiction of Moodbidri and Murudeshwara police stations.

The arrested individuals are Akash Kalki of Kodavati village near Anjaneya temple in Tumkur district and Virendra of Beerganahalli near Anjaneya temple.

The police were conducting vehicle checks near Mahaveera College in Moodbidri when they spotted the duo riding a bike. The pair refused to stop and attempted to flee after making a U-turn. However, the police gave chase and intercepted them.

Subsequent questioning of the apprehended suspects revealed that they had stolen motorcycles from in front of Jain PU College in Moodbidri and at Murudeshwar. The stolen bikes were recovered by the police officers.
