Moodbidri: Trio arrested for abusing, obstructing cop on duty

Moodbidri, August 17, 2024: Police have arrested three persons on the charges of abusing and obstructing a police officer from discharging his duty.

Those arrested are Moodbidri MUDA member Prakash, Abdul Sattar and Vijeth. The arrests were made following a complaint by PSI Krishnappa of Moodbidri police station. It is learnt, the trio abused the cop for the reason that he had pulled up two-wheeler riders who were triple riding a bike without wearing helmet on the road near the bus stand.

The complaint also stated that the accused by uploading a video of the incident in social media had given a misleading heading indicating that the public were furious over a police officer for accepting bribe.

The accused were released on a surety bond of Rs one lakh and a penalty was imposed for driving a vehicle under drunken stupor.
