Moodbidri : Woman dies, husband critical in bus-bike collision

Moodbidri, Dec 27, 2014:  A speeding express bus fatally knocked down a  woman who was pillion riding a  bike on December 27, Saturday afternoon  near the Tahsildar’s office in the town. Her husband who was riding the bike  has sustained serious injuries in the accident.

The deceased  woman is Kusuma (37), wife of Srikanth from Kanakabettu  near Mijar. The mishap took place when the two were heading towards Moodbidri from Mijar. Eyewitnesses said the express bus named Reshma operating on the Mangaluru-Moodbidri route  was over speeding and hit the bike from the rear.

Kusuma who had sustained grievous head injuries in the mishap died   in the hospital. Moodbidri police have registered a case. Some people said the same bus nearly missed hitting a car near Mijar, minutes  before this fatal mishap.
