Moral policing again: Right wing activists barge into jewellery store, assault young man

Mangaluru, Dec 07, 2022: In a case of moral policing reported from the city on December 6, Tuesday, activists of a right wing organisation barged into a jewellery shop near Kankanady and assaulted a young man who according to them was close to a girl belonging to another community. Incidently the young man and woman worked in the same jewellery shop.

Reports revealed that even the family members of the woman took the young man to task.

As many as three cases have been filed in Kadri police station. While one complaint was lodged by the young man who was subject to assault, the other complaint was by the mother of the young woman. The complaint alleged that the youth had abused the young woman and threatened her.

The third complaint is by the jewellery shop owners. They have alleged that the group had forcibly entered the shop and created disturbance.
