Mangalore, Jan 25,2013: There is a need for the governments at the Centre and the State, to give more importance to sports by encouraging sporting talents, said senior Congress leader B Janardhan Poojari.

He was speaking after inaugurating  a district level Kabaddi tournament organised by the Dakshina Kannada Amateur Kabaddi  Association  in Mangalore on January 24, Thursday. The tournament is conducted for students right from primary to college level.


Poojari further urged young sporting talents to pursue sports with determination and perseverance. He even announced a cash prize of Rs 3000 to the winners, on his behalf.


A Sadananda Shetty, Chairman of Sridevi Education Trust presided over the function.
