Much needed vehicular overpass to come up near KPT

Mangaluru, July 25, 2023: A much needed vehicular overpass near the KPT will be constructed by the NHAI as part of its plan to decongest many busy junctions in Mangaluru.

The contract for the proposed project costing Rs 40 crore has been bagged by Trinity Group from Hubballi.

 

It may be recalled that traffic problems have been haunting the nearly 1.6 km long road from Nanthoor Junction to the KPT. The overpass will be built on both sides of the road and there will also be a service road.

But, as many as 602 trees have to be felled to execute this project. However 370 trees can be relocated while the remaining 232 trees have to be axed.

A public hearing in this regard in the city recently. The NHAI officials have said work on the project would start as soon as the technical clearances are obtained.
