Mulki, Aug 23, 2023: Thieves who broke into a house at Mother Teresa Layout at Koikude near Pakshikere, have stolen cash and valuables worth nearly Rs 5 lakhs.

The theft occurred in the house of Srilatha Poojary when she along with her children and other members of her family had been to her parental home for Nagara Panchami. Srilatha’s husband Bharathraj Poojary had recently left abroad for employment purpose.

The thieves broke open the window grills of the kitchen using a machine and then entered the house and ransacked cupboards before escaping with cash and valuables.

Police officials visited the spot and dog squad was also pressed into service.
